"Where the Mountain Meets the Roses" Workshop

WHERE THE MOUNTAIN MEETS THE ROSES is a fun project containing two very different techniques -Jigsaw Puzzle Piecing (JPP)TM, an original technique that Jill developed for piecing complex, irregular quilt designs, and improv foundation piecing for creating colorful, one-of-a-kind roses. The resulting mini quilt captures the essence of a summer day, with beautiful roses in bloom! In this full-day workshop, we will cover:

Part One: JPP Technique

- discussion of FPP vs JPP

- Jigsaw Puzzle Piecing Technique

Part Two: Improv Rose Foundation
Piecing Technique

- several approaches to color placement

- fabric choices

- foundation piecing technique

- blending roses into the foothills

Schedule:

Arrive by - 8:30 am
Part 1: 9am to 12

Lunch: 12:00 to 12:30

Part 2: 12:30 to 3:30
Clean/Pack 3:30 to 4

Students can expect to get a good jump on making their mini-quilt in class and finishing it on their own at home. All skill levels are welcome!

Finished Size - 25" x 20" (Optional: add a third row of roses to finish at 25" x 25")

Students must purchase the pattern, "Where the Mountain Meets the Roses" available online at huntingtonquiltdesign.com in both digital (PDF) and hard copy formats. (Several pattern options are available including a download for $25 and a paper copy with freezer paper set for $30.) Fabric kits are also available for purchase on the website. See fabric requirements on supply list below.

Class fee for members is $68 due at registration, members must log-in to register.
