Play studio with applique! What is a 'play studio'? It's a half day workshop for our guild members and by our guild members where we'll be 'playing' with an aspect of quilting. It's a working and learning environment with a social component! On Wednesday, October 22 we will feature Applique!
This is a member only event. $20 to register.
Appliqué, the art of attaching fabric pieces to a larger background, offers a variety of variations. Join us as we explore the different techniques of raw edge applique, wool applique, needle turn applique, Broderie Perse applique, freezer paper vs fusible web, decorative embroidery stitches and more! Learn and practice many of these during the workshop.
We'll have 'stations' around the room with guild volunteer 'Guides' demonstrating different aspects of applique. Participants will move through the stations in groups to watch, learn, ask questions, see examples and then practice under the tutelage of the Guide.
Timing:
8:00 the doors will open - please arrive by 8:45 at the latest
9:00 - 12:30 rotate through the stations with your table group, watch a demonstration, ask questions and then practice
