Appliqué Flowers with Michele Byrum

RosesMichele teaches beginning and intermediate appliqué. She will show us how to select fabrics to create color variations in flower petals and leaves, giving a sense of dimension. Michele is from Salem, Oregon and is a favorite teacher at Grandma's Attic in Dallas, Oregon. Her appliqué is beautiful and her skill as an instructor has brought her to our attention. Morning GloriesHer quilt, "Playing with Marbles" won 2nd place in the March 2009 NWQ show. She has been the featured quilter at the Aurora Colony Museum quilt show in 2008; her quilt "A Garden Wall" was judged "Best in Show" at the 2007 Mid-Valley Quilt Guild Show and was also shown at the NWQ show in March 2009. Michele will provide a small kit for day one of the class. She will teach you her techniques for appliqué. You will also learn how to select fabrics to make the most of your flowers and leaves.


IrisWorkshop fee for members is $100.00, for non-members $120.00.
($5.00 kit fee paid to Michele on the first day of class)

Lunch will be provided both days.

Class will be held at Sellwood Methodist Church,
1422 SE Tacoma Street, Portland, Oregon.

Deposits of $55.00 for Michele Byrum's Appliqué Flowers are required for registration. Registrations will be accepted on a "first come, first served" basis. If you must cancel, or your remaining registration balance is not received by Sept. 30, 2009, refunds will be given if your spot can be filled (minus $10.00 cancellation fee).
